MANAGER, AUDITS AND INVESTIGATIONS

Marie-Lou Lefrançois, RPF, joined the Forest Practices Board in May 2022.

Marie-Lou has a Bachelor of Science in Physical Geography from University of Montreal, and a Master of Science in Forest Ecology from the Centre of Forest Research (Que.). She moved to BC in 2007 where she became a Registered Professional Forester (RPF).

Before joining the Board, Marie-Lou worked in forest research, planning, operations and stewardship policy. She joined the provincial government in 2011 where she worked for Lands Authorizations, the Office of the Chief Forester and BC Timber Sales. She has lead and collaborated on various partial harvesting initiatives throughout the province and brings a passion for good stewardship to her work at the Board.

Marie-Lou is grateful to live and work in Northern BC, on the ancestral land of the Witsuwit’en, in Smithers.

The Board conducts its work throughout British Columbia, and we respectfully acknowledge the territories of the many Indigenous Peoples who have lived on these lands since time immemorial.
