An investigation of fire preparedness of forestry licensees has found that major companies are complying with the Wildfire Act, but some smaller operators are taking significant risks.
A Forest Practices Board audit in the area surrounding the communities of Merritt, Princeton and Lillooet found BC Timber Sales and its timber sale licence holders complied with forestry legislation, according to a report released today.
